Prof. Louhghalam in collaboration with researchers from Institute for NanoBio Technology at the Johns Hopkins University and School of Converging Science and Technology at Korea University, has studied the impact of spatial structure of the actin cap on protecting the cell nucleus from extracellular physical disturbances. The study which was recently published in Nature Communications combines experimental results and computational simulation to explain the behavior of cells under mechanical stimuli according to the load-carrying mechanism.
